Background

The demand for a CSUCI minor in Fine Arts and the need for the arts and cultural programs offered at the university level is clearly established in Ventura County. IT is no secret that a large population of art majors are currently attending the numerous community colleges in the area and planning to continue upper division study in the Fine Arts. Ventura County is also the home of numerous art colonies, complete with a healthy selection galleries and museums. Many of these potential students/artists are seeking continued involvement and experience in the Fine Arts while they may not be planning to complete a four-year degree program.
