Purpose

The minor in psychology gives students concentrated exposure to the philosophy, history, methods and theories related to the study of the mind and behavior. The minor in psychology is appropriate for the students interested in understanding how human psychological perspectives can influence their major field of study and the world around them. 

Background

The mi  or in psychology provides an excellent introduction to the tools, methods and theories relevant to the field. Exposure to these characteristics of psychology will enhance a student's ability to perform in many careers, including profit and non-profit sectors. The psychology minor also provides a background which may be helpful for entry into masters, doctoral, and professional graduate programs in the social sciences, behavioral sciences, and medicine.
