Purpose
Many areas of modern life require use of mathematical ideas and problem solving skills, especially in education, high tech and bio-tech industries. This Minor will assist all students in being more effective participants in their future careers.
Background
Provides non-majors with learning opportunities in mathematics related to basic scientific activities in modern society. The Minor introduces students to mathematical concepts and abstract thinking. First, students in the Program build basic understanding of modern methods in mathematics and develop problem solving skills. next, the Program introduces students to contemporary applications of mathematics in various fields.
